Tips for Preparing for the ACT

Our school ACT and SAT specific code is 491-135. There are two exams ACT and SAT. These tests are normally used for college admission purposes. Some schools use one specifically and some use either. West Virginia colleges will accept the results of either exam. In order to determine which test you need to take, see the college catalog, investigate the college web site, or ask your counselor. Students should take these exams during their junior year of high school, however some sophomores do take these tests. Ask your counselor what test time is appropriate for you. You must complete and mail the registration form, or register electronically about 1 month before the scheduled date of the exams. Registration forms are available in the counseling center. The ACT website is www.act.org . The SAT website is online at www.collegeboard.org.
